Crohn’s Disease is even harder to live with if You are an Athlete

Crohn’s disease is a form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It usually affects the intestines, but may occur anywhere from the mouth to the end of the rectum (anus). Ulcerative colitis is a related condition. If You ever wished You could keep weight off and never get fat, do not wish too hard because Crohn’s will do that. You will not gain weight but it is very painful. For the average person having Crohn’s is painful, inconvenient, embarrassing and to say the least very stressful. To an athlete is can be all that and more and most People have to give up athletics if their case is severe. Building muscle and endurance is difficult at least and impossible in some cases. There are ways to control Ccohn’s but there is much more research to be done to cure it. Surgery is an option for many as it is for the athlete in this video:
